This Crock Pot Minute Steak recipe is the classic way minute steaks are usually cooked in the oven but it allows you to leave the house for the day and return to a delicious meal. This dish combines the richness of onion and cream of mushroom soup with a household favorite cut of meat, round steak.
This dish is for sure a Kansas thing, as we only really used round steak for Chicken Fried steak, but it sure is good.
Tips on Cooking Crock Pot Minute Steak
- This recipe calls for cream of mushroom soup, but I also use cream of golden mushroom soup and it adds a layer of flavor.
- We serve this with mashed potatoes and greens.
- I flour the steaks and brown them before putting them in the crock pot. We do this for two reasons, one, it gives it more flavor and two, it is best to put meat that has been browned in the crock pot.
- A minute steak is a tenderized round steak cut into steaks.
