Ground Beef Option for the Philly Cheesesteaks
Ground beef is a favorite “cut” of ours. It thaws and cooks up quickly, is budget-friendly, and can be a lean source of quality protein.
For this recipe, I like to use 90/10 (90% lean to 10% fat) as it cooks with very little extra fat. However, you can use any ground beef that you have available. I recommend draining the fat off before adding the peppers and onions.

Can you freeze the Philly Cheesesteaks with Ground Beef Filling
Yes! The ground beef, peppers, and onions will freeze beautifully. This would be a great recipe to double, eat half, and freeze the other half for another night.
What to Serve with the Sandwich
We love to have a salad and some potatoes to go with this quick and easy sandwich. Some of our favorite options include a salad made with our Green Chili Ranch Dressing, some easy frozen tater tots, and roasted broccoli paired with our Homemade Potato Chips.

How to build the Philly – It is super simple!
Begin by browning the ground beef in a skillet. Drain any excess fat off and season with grill seasoning.

Next, add the peppers and onions to cook down. Once they become translucent, you are ready to build the sandwiches.

Place the filling in the cut roll, add two to three slices of cheese on top, and then place it on a baking sheet or a casserole dish. And butter the tops of the buns. Place in a 425-degree oven until the cheese is melted and the bun is toasted.
