Skillet Burger
We love a good grilled burger, but the next best thing is a burger cooked in a skillet. However, there is a technique in cooking the perfect burger in a skillet. This post will share our tips and tricks on how to cook the perfect Skillet Burger. We also share our secret recipe when it comes to seasoning the perfect burger, grilled or cooked in a skillet.
Tips for Cooking the Perfect Skillet Burger
- We prefer to use a cast-iron skillet, but any nonstick skillet will work.
- When you make your patties, place a thumb print in the center of the patty so they will cook flat and not plump up.
- You do need oil to cook your skillet burger. Some preferred to use butter to cook a skillet burger, however we choose olive oil.
- Cook your burgers on medium high heat and do not flip until about 5 minutes of cooking on the first side.
- If you want a cheeseburger, wait till after you flip the burger. Then add your cheese and cover to let the cheese melt down and the burger to finish cooking.

How to Make the Perfect Skillet Burger
Preheat your skillet to medium high heat.
Season your ground beef with grill seasoning, A1 and Worcestershire sauce.
Form your patties by first balling the ground beef. Pack the ball and then flatten and place a thumb print in the middle.
Next place your patties in your skillet and cook without flipping for about 5 minutes (you want to develop a good sear before flipping).
Flip and then add your cheese if you desire and cook covered for about another five minutes or until your preferred doneness.
When the burgers are done pull them from the skillet to a plate and tent with foil to let rest for at least 5 minutes.
Serve with your favorite toppings and fries.
