Breakfast Beef Sausage

May 31, 2019 by Wrenn Leave a Comment

Breakfast Beef Sausage is a favorite around here. We like to fuel our days with protein and starting the day with beef only sets us all up for success. This recipe is super easy and very vestral. We also batch cook it and we can stretch two pounds of sausage through the week.

Our Favorite ways to use the Breakfast Beef Sausage

  • We love to make breakfast burritos with eggs and cheese and of course Breakfast Beef Sausage.
  • On days we don’t have flour tortillas made up, we make easy Breakfast Tacos. All you do is heat up corn tortillas, scramble some eggs and fill the tortilla. Super easy!
  • We also use it in our favorite New Mexican Quiche.
  • This sausage is also delicious in our Breakfast Cups.

Ingredient List

Ground Beef
sage
garlic powder
onion powder
teaspoon salt
teaspoon crushed red pepper

How to make the Breakfast Beef Sausage

This recipe comes from our friends over at Beef It’s What’s for Dinner.

Combine Ground Beef and seasonings in a large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly.

To prepare crumbles, heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add sausage mixture; cook 8 to 10 minutes, breaking into 1/2-inch crumbles and stirring occasionally.

Cook’s Tip: Two to 2-1/2 cups fully cooked sausage crumbles can be frozen for 3 to 4 months. To use, heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add frozen crumbles and cook 6 to 9 minutes or until crumbles reach 165°F, stirring occasionally.
